We are working with an established manufacturer in the Ramsgate area who are looking for a Logistics Controller to join their team on a permanent basis, in office.

You will have experience operating in a manufacturing environment with a great understanding and application of warehouse principles, practices and standards.

Main Duties:

  • Ensure the store is manned with suitably qualified and experienced personnel to meet the expected outputs, through training, assigning, scheduling, planning and disciplining of the team.
  • Coordination of resource requests with other teams.
  • Control of material, consumables and inventory of special project spares and associated clean room materials.
  • Assist the Supply Chain Manager with daily management tasks.
  • Meet operational standards of performance by identify continuous improvements.
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure received items are booked in and located correctly within timeframes.
  • Ensure that items are kitted for production in line with the production schedule.
  • Ensure the dispatch process is followed and items are packaged appropriately and in a timely manner for customers and suppliers to receive the goods.
  • Demonstrate the stores department are meeting their objectives of performance through measurement and monitoring of Key KPIs.
  • Ensure that inventory is managed using FIFO.
  • Use appropriate commodity management methods such as Kanban.
  • Carry out a perpetual stock take to ensure that 100% of inventory is checked on an annual basis, investigating and reconciling any discrepancies.
  • Maintain the warehouse though the best utilisation of space to maximise efficiency.
  • Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment are maintained and available for use.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with Export Controls & Dangerous Goods Controls.

Essential Requirements:

  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Experience of operating in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Export control.
  • Experience in handling dangerous goods.
  • Computer literate. Use of ERP.
  • Demonstrate an understanding on warehouse methods, principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of current Environmental legislation.
  • Ability to react swiftly as situations change and/or develop.
  • Effective communicator both written and orally.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
