Salary: £17.96 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week


This is a great opportunity for a graduate in a biochemistry related degree looking for their first role in the industry. 0-2 years industry experience is required for this role.


This role is for a R&D Scientist position in the Bioprocess and Automation Team, part of the Protein and Process Analytics R&D group, whose function is to deliver high-value technical innovation. The position will provide analytical support using a range of analytical methods, including ELISA, PCR and liquid chromatography (SEC, PrA affinity, RP) to R&D projects, as well as more general analytical testing as required.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform experiments, analyze and report results in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Insure that results are accurate and that the scientific conclusions are meaningful and linked to experimental goals
  • Develop skills and expertise in the Bioprocess area (e.g. ELISA, PCR, HPLC), with a focus on use and optimization of automation (e.g. liquid handler) equipment


Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Biochemistry, Biology or Biomanufacturing.
  • Experience with protein chemistry would be desirable.
  • Previous laboratory experience in analytical techniques with experience in at least one bioprocess analytics technique, use and knowledge of automation equipment is an added value
