Overview of the Role

The Permitting Manager is tasked with managing permit applications, modifications, and ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations. Responsibilities include statutory reporting, coordinating necessary inspections and testing, and ensuring the organisation adheres to its permits. This role is essential for regulatory compliance and fostering continuous improvement

It also involves preparing reports, assessments, and proposals to support planning and permitting decisions, such as CEMPs, OMPs, FPPs, BAT, and Appropriate Measures Assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and recommend suitable permits for relevant operations within the group.
  • Submit permit applications with all necessary supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with site and regional management to create and improve management systems and reports.
  • Arrange for the timely preparation and delivery of specialist reports.
  • Audit current group permits to ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Organize and oversee required inspections and tests related to permits and other measures.
  • Report on non-compliance issues and develop corrective actions or mitigations.
  • Create documents and reports to assist with the planning process when needed.
  • Oversee the work of other professionals and manage the creation of specialist reports when required.

Experience

  • Experience working within the waste and recycling sector is essential.
  • Previous experience of working with the permitting support centre.
  • WAMITAB/COTC Desirable.
