  • Lead the development of solutions to technical issues as a member of a project team, reporting to Technical Leads and directly to the customer.
  • Developing design solutions based on customer or internally derived requirements, validating, and verifying through the design process.
  • Review and check design work and technical reports, providing help and direction to less experienced engineers.
  • Carrying out technical analysis and investigations, and preparing reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.
  • Planning, delivering, and monitoring assigned projects or work packages, ensuring that requirements are delivered to plan.
  • Populate design development documentation using a Formal Design Review process (FDR) through the stages of:
    • Requirements & Root Cause Analysis
    • Developing Candidate Solutions
    • Candidate down selection and risk reduction
    • Development for manufacture
    • Qualification
  • Concept generation and development of weapons sub systems.
  • Weight optimization of systems / structures via re-design and / or use of advanced materials.


Essential

  • Analytical skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Presentation / report writing skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to operate at all levels within the company and with the customer
  • Experienced in CAD (ideally PTC Creo)


Desirable

  • Engineering background in a weapons system or design for military use.
  • Structural / Stress analysis (MS Excel, Mathcad, FEA {PTC Simulate / Ansys})
  • System control (Matlab /Simulink)
  • Hydraulic system design
  • Material selection and manufacturing techniques

Product Lifecycle Management Tool experience (ideally Teamcenter)
