The Project
As a Site Engineer, you will be playing an essential role to the groundworks on new build construction projects around the West Yorkshire area. Your role will involve supporting the preparation, execution, and monitoring of foundational tasks to ensure the site is properly prepared for the subsequent construction phases. Additionally, you will assist Senior Engineers by contributing to project efficiency and addressing any on-site challenges.
Requirements
For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;
 HNC
It is also essential that you hold the experience below;
 History of setting out on new build projects
 Previous experience of overseeing groundworks on new build construction projects
Additional skills;
* Superb time management abilities
* Effective communication, written and verbal with a keen eye for detail
* Knowledgeable of relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols
* Solid understanding of core engineering principles and concepts relevant to their field
* Efficient utilisation of engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, or other design and analysis tools)
The Role

Duties
* Updating clients on project progress and site conditions
* Resolving technical issues that occur during construction
* Troubleshooting technical issues that arise during construction
* Coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and other on-site workers
* Effectively support the enforcement of health and safety regulations on the site
* Ensuring that legal permits and site documentation are in place and updated
* Overseeing construction activities, ensuring they adhere to quality specifications
* Contribute to the preparation and submission of progress reports to the Senior Site Engineer
* Inspecting and testing materials to ensure they meet the required quality standards
* Prepare work schedules and allocate resources under the guidance of Senior Engineers
* Ensuring that scheduled tasks are completed efficiently and in line with the project timeline
* Maintain detailed site records such as daily logs, material usage, labor hours, and equipment status
* Reporting any safety incidents or potential hazards to the Senior Site Engineer or Safety Officer
* Assist Senior Engineers in overseeing day-to-day site activities to ensure tasks are executed as per plan
* Aid in monitoring and controlling the delivery, storage, and utilization of materials on-site to prevent waste
* Help conduct on-site surveys and measurements as needed to ensure work is executed according to design
* Communicate project updates and requirements to stakeholders, such as contractors, suppliers, and Senior Engineers
* Help in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents under the guidance of Senior Engineers
* Setting out the site (marking out boundaries, levels, etc.) to ensure correct execution of construction tasks
* Gain hands-on experience by learning from senior engineers and supervisors while being exposed to different facets of site management
* Continuously work on improving technical skills, including understanding construction methods, safety protocols, and problem-solving strategies
* Handling clerical tasks, such as filing documents, compiling data, and ensuring that records are kept organized
* Ensuring the site complies with environmental regulations and sustainability practices under the guidance of senior engineers
