We are seeking dedicated, pro-active and confident Teaching Assistants (TA's)  to join our team in supporting students across various schools in Sheffield. About the role

  • Behavioural Assistance: Support students in managing their behaviour.
  • Personal Care: Provide assistance with personal care needs as required, ensuring the dignity and well-being of each student.
  • Classroom Support: Work alongside the class teacher to set up activities, prepare resources, and maintain an organised and supportive classroom environment.
  • Monitoring Progress: Observe and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents, and contributing to progress reports and meetings.
  • Inclusive Environment: Promote an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported, encouraging social interaction and emotional well-being.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children and young people
  • Patience and Empathy: A compassionate and patient demeanour, with the ability to respond calmly and effectively to challenging situations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility in adapting to different student needs, teaching styles, and classroom settings.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.
  • Commitment to Safeguarding: A strong understanding of safeguarding policies and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
