  • Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
  • Pension: 8% non-contributory pension (on top of salary, saving 3-5% against normal salary deductions)

My Manufacturing client is looking for a QHSE Professional, if you're looking for an organisation that puts safety, quality and the environment at the forefront of thier business this may be the role for you 

Who are They?

The company are an award winning manufacturing business who are going through various stages of expansion. 

What is the job?

Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will have responsibility for the QHSE activity across the business, working in partnership with colleagues in Operations to ensure that the business continues to produce the quality products that customers have come to expect from and operate in a safe environment.

Key areas of focus and responsibility will include;

  • Setting and implementing QHSE strategy company wide.
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance and setting objectives for QHSE co-ordinator to drive continual improvements, KPIs and key company objectives to drive the continuous improvement of our positive H&S culture.
  • Ensuring product compliance is adhered to and exceeded and, where required, identifying opportunities to widen the scope of product compliance to benefit the company and market position.
  • Company wide responsibility of legislative and legal compliance.
  • Annual budgeting control for department within existing framework.
  • Identification and implementation of continual improvements, setting strategic goals and framework for the QHSE and wider teams within group companies.
  • Supporting the maintenance and development of our QMS and having responsibility for the monitoring of Quality Performance (including quality audits)
  • Provide a framework for the management of Environmental Management and ensure all areas remain environmentally compliant.
  • Recommend a roadmap to net zero.
  • Manage the customer complaints process.
  • Lead and manage internal and external audit program for continual improvement including ISO9001, ISO14001, EN10190, BS12608 and identify further opportunities for future accreditation.

Expectations of the role

  • To be successful in the role you will need to be able to demonstrate practical hands-on experience of a similar role within manufacturing, have a good working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, Quality, H&S and Environmental requirements.
  • You should also have knowledge of Vernier and shadowgraph measurement equipment and a good understanding of statistical process controls and data analysis.
  • Given the H&S brief, you should hold a NEBOSH qualification such as the National General Certificate and have demonstrable experience of managing H&S.
  • Working as part of a wider Operational team, your communication skills (both verbal and written) will be critical to your success, as will the ability to influence change and motivate cross-functional teams and gain the buy-in of colleagues across all departments for new process implementation.
  • Finally, although this role will be largely based onsite in at the facility in gloucestershire but you will be required to travel from time to time and therefore a full current driving licence is essential.
