This role will operate from the head office site in Bury and play a key role in the production of the management accounts.

Description

Management Accountant duties include:

• Responsible for maintaining and updating the Fixed Asset Register accurately on a monthly basis in line with the group accounting policies
• Monthly analysis and investigation of P&L depreciation variances
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any differences
• Monthly analysis of capex movements to ensure they align with business expectations
• Assist the Commercial Finance team with the preparation of annual budgets and monthly reforecasts for depreciation
• Calculation of half year and year end WIP adjustments
• Adhere to group reporting deadlines
• Work with the internal controls team to ensure that the fixed asset controls are in line with the Group expectation and implement new processes as required
• Assist with audit queries
• Ad hoc project work as required
• National statistics returns

Profile

The successful candidate will:

• Be part qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA
• Have a proven track record in a similar role
• Be proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel (Vlookups, Pivot Tables etc)
• Be an excellent written and verbal communicator
• Working knowledge of the retail industry would be beneficial
