About the Company:

Our client is a well-respected specialist in high specification residential projects. They are a privately-owned family business who take great pride in their reputation as a fine builder. The undertake contracts in Chelsea, St Johns Wood, Kensington and Mayfair amongst other affluent postcodes.  They provide a broad range of bespoke individual and specialist building services, from in house design through to construction, refurbishment and ongoing maintenance.

Most of their work comes from repeat business and client referrals.  The company employs its own workforce and projects range from small works up to the value of £10m, all of which use the finest materials.

About the Role:

Our client is currently looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who would also be interested in getting involved in Estimating.  At present they are expanding their business and have many new projects coming up and already started in and around the London area. Your role will be working in the Estimating/Surveying function to ensure that company targets and objectives are met reporting to senior management. You will also be expected to record and report on value and measure of work undertaken, providing valuations to clients. You duties will include:

  • Issue tender packages to sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring all the relevant information is provided.
  • Make necessary copies of drawings and specification as directed by management.
  • Arrange and attend site visits with sub-contractors.
  • Ensure sub-contractor quotations are received back by the specified date, set out by management.
  • List tender enquires.
  • Set up cost plan for project.
  • Produce take-offs and measure specific items.
  • Assist with the final compilation of tenders.
  • Ensure documentation is collated and stored in line with Company policies.
  • Carry out any reasonable request of a similar nature as directed by Senior Management.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company health and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Candidates will ideally have industry experience and will be able to demonstrate the ability to work without support or supervision. You will ideally live within a 1 hour commute to their office in the Paddington area of London.
