Role: Class 2 HGV Driver
Location: York
Salary: From £32,000
Hours: Mon - Fri (daytime shifts)
Our client is a one of the UK’s largest national providers for Plant & Tool Hire. Due to their continued growth and expansion, they’re looking for an established HGV Class 2 driver who holds a valid up to date HGV Class 2 (Category C/CE) license.
You will be required to deliver goods to customers via a planned route schedule as well as whilst maintaining good care of your vehicle; ensuring that all loads are secured, undertaking daily safety checks, and keeping transport documents and paperwork updated.
Day to day duties will include:
- Oversee the safe loading of the vehicle and ensure the load is distributed and secured correctly
- Ensure the loaded equipment is correct against the customer’s order
- Follow collection/delivery instructions
- Deliver the customer’s order in a timely and safe manner
- Handle any issues raised at the point of delivery calmly, effectively, and professionally
- Ensure the vehicle is kept in a clean and tidy condition
- Report damage and losses of equipment
- Carry out daily checks and report any defects
- Ensure accidents and incidents are kept to a minimum
What you will need:
- Hold the correct category entitlement (Category C/CE) / HGV Class 2
- Hold Current Valid Driver CPC
- Hold a current valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Be over [25] years old (this will be specific due to insurance in place for the company)
- Minimum 1 years experience delivery driving & the ability to use GPS Navigation/mapping and route planning
- Physically fit
- Experience with manual delivery and using machinery for heavy goods
- Customer focused & professional individual
