Automation Engineer - Programming and Commissioning

Permanent - £30K to £60K depending on experience

The Automation Engineer will be programming and commissioning and will spend 50/50 of the time at the Head office at the client site. You will have a company van that can be used for private mileage. This role will likely include approximately 60% of the time on customer sites. The Automation Engineer will travel throughout the UK visiting customer sites and occasional nights away from home, with expenses paid and a vehicle. Experience in robotics would be an advantage and should have mechanical and electrical competence. The position could be at the graduate level or someone with previous experience working in a similar environment. There may also be occasional weekend work and availability for support outside of office hours. 

Key Areas for the Automation Engineer are:

• Carry out full system commissioning which includes software, mechanical and electrical competence.
• Carry out site installation, software integrations and commissioning.
• Deliver customer training.
• Offer technical support both remotely and on-site for engineers and clients

Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience in programming robots.
• Commissioning Machinery
• Experience with creating electrical designs for machinery
• PLC programming - ideally in structured text (Beckhoff)
• A good understanding of all Microsoft packages
• Clean driving license.
• Minimum Education to A level including Maths and Physics or similar subjects.
