Contek Recruitment are currently working with an engineering company based in Tamworth, who are currently on the search for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team.

Established in 1962, our client are a privately owned company who are the world’s leading manufacturer of spline gauges and master gears. Their highly skilled team of engineers are dedicated to producing supreme quality and reliability across their extensive product range. Based solely at their UK manufacturing facility in Tamworth, they are able to provide complete gauging solutions from design to manufacture and certification.

They are looking for an enthusiastic Quality Inspector to join their team of inspectors for work in dimensional metrology, using a wide range of measurement methods within the automotive, aerospace and racing industry. You will carry out dimensional inspection of mainly gauges and different types of gears using a variety of different machinery from gear analysers to CMM machines. This position requires effective teamwork, good communication skills, initiative, intelligent judgement, maintaining efficiency but also good dedication for the quality assurance of your work.

Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday (Start between 06:30am - 08:00am and finish between 15:00pm - 16:30pm) and Friday (Start between 06:30am – 08:00am and finish between 12:00pm - 13:30pm)

Pay/Salary: Between £18 - £21 per hour (Dependent on experience).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify non-conforming components.
• Completion of inspection reports to a UKAS standard.
• Deliver accurate information to enable the best decision making.
• Carry out daily calibration to ensure the confidence of the measurements.
• Ensure that all data provided is 100% reliable and accurate.
• Communicate with shop floor personnel to ensure confidence in the manufacturing process.
• Communicate with customers to instil confidence in our inspection
  reports.
   

Requirements:

• Good understanding of engineering and metrology principles.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• HNC (Preferred but not required)
• Experience using CMM’s with MCOSMOS (MCOSMOS preferred but not required)
• At least 5 years’ experience within an engineering environment.
• Have an apprenticeship at NVQ Level 3 within an engineering field.
• Competent computer skills and good knowledge of Excel.
• Experience using micrometres & callipers.
• Experience within a UKAS environment (Preferred but not required).

As a Quality Inspector, you should have a good understanding of metrology and engineering principles, but all training will be provided on the job within their specialised field. Working along side the inspection team, you will help to review, create and improve on current processes to eliminate faults and ensure the repeatability and maximise capabilities.
