Electrical Improver | Manchester | 37.5 Hours per week - Although overtime is not guaranteed, average hours are 50+ per week for around 10 months of the year | £15.30 per hour

Our client a comprehensive range of electrical site services, from simple installations of cable and containment equipment, through to complete turnkey solutions. These can include mechanical works and minor civil works as required by the customer.

In addition to approved electricians, the site workforce includes teams of electrical technicians, instrument technicians, mechanical fitters and a range of civil engineering trades, all of which can be mobilised to meet specific customer project needs.

Our client’s engineering skills are constantly reviewed and updated to meet new legislation, the changing needs of customers and to make the most effective use of emerging technologies as they develop. This approach includes staff training and programmes for continuing professional development.

Whilst their installation resource is large enough to respond to major project requirements, their partnership approach to working with individual customers ensures that all site teams remain focused and responsive to specific customer needs at all times.

Reliability and loyalty are essential qualities along with an ability to use initiative and work both unsupervised and as part of a team.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:     

  • C&G 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • CCNSG

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • SHEA Passport – Not essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with Clients at all levels
  • Ability to travel at short notice including long distance
  • Team player
  • Willing to work overtime when required including working away from home Monday - Friday
  • Awareness of H+S regulations on site

What will your role as an Electrical Improver look like?

  • Ensure the company’s quality standards are met
  • Ensure safety standards on site are met (H+S /CDM Regulations)
  • Perform tasks as instructed by the site supervisor
  • Glanding/Terminating of SWA type cables
  • Installation of tray work, conduit, trunking
  • Installation SWA type cabling at various sizes
  • Installation of distribution boards
  • Electrical installation in Industrial Environments

What can you expect in return?

Remuneration Package:

  • Overtime is paid at time and a half after 37.5 hrs including travel time
  • Saturdays – first 6hrs at time and a half, double time thereafter
  • Sundays – Double time all day
  • 22 days annual leave plus Statutory Bank Holidays
  • Ability to buy an additional of 5 days extra holidays per year
  • EV Scheme: The option to lease an Electric vehicle which includes insurance, servicing & tyres through a salary sacrifice scheme.
  • SSP – in accordance with government regulations
  • Company Pension Scheme (after 3 months probationary period) – Company will match your contribution up to 6%
  • Training is provided by the company along with supported career development
  • Further levels of pay are achievable once qualified
  • The option to lease an Electric vehicle which includes insurance, servicing & tyres through a salary sacrifice scheme
