FINTEC recruit is supporting recruitment for a vacancy for Lead Mechanical Design Engineer .  This is working for a design consultancy based in Cumbria.  You will be working on a nuclear site  involved in survey work.     Experience of working within a design department is an advantage or similar.  CAD training can be given.   This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, with salary depending on experience, up to £54,000 plus bonus, pension, critical illness, flexible working and more. Regular overtime available.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising a technical team for implementation, delivery of design support packages
  • Ability to supervise a team of technical personnel in the definition, implementation, and delivery of design support packages
  • Design output/delivery meeting client specifications for successful manufacture, installations and commissioning
  • Design of plant and equipment
  • To facilitate training and staff learning in developing team technical skills

Skills and Experience required for the Lead Mechanical Design  role:

  • Degree qualified – Mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of design tools, techniques such as HAZOP’s and calculation packages
  • IOSH Managing Safely Professional
  • Competent in the production of standard deliverables including basic design calculations
  • Awareness of CDM regulations
  • Incorporate engineer IENG or working towards.
  • Experience of working within a regulated work environment and quality assured system
