Shift Manager

Purpose of the position:

We are looking to recruit an experienced Shift Manager to join our Operations Team at Corby. As part of the management team, the role will be responsible for the night management of the Warehouse effectively managing and controlling the operation in accordance with budgetary constraints, whilst achieving best possible level of service to internal and external customers. Planning site resources whilst supporting and motivating the team to meet personal and business objectives, while effectively communicating with all stakeholders.

Main tasks and duties:

  • To plan and use resources effectively and efficiently, monitoring and challenging absence and performance.
  • To manage the operation to meet and exceed customer requirements whilst continuously improving performance.
  • To monitor and report on KPI’s and ensure that all employees remain focused on the achievement of high service levels as a priority.
  • Reporting on results, developments, and issues/potential issues to the Operations Manager
  • Continuous improvements indentification.
  • To provide clear, consistent, and appropriate communication regarding operational status within the Warehouse
  • To plan, control and complete projects to the satisfaction of the senior leadership team.
  • To ensure the health, safety and welfare of all staff and visitors, by adhering to maintenance programs and safety procedures, and ensuring that all requirements are understood and complied with.
  • To ensure the integrity and security of the operation, including control of access to stock, work areas, equipment, and use of the computer system.
  • To ensure that administrative tasks are completed in full and on time to ensure the smooth operation of the site.
  • Actively working on the development of personal performance.
  • MHE management, servicing and ensure we have a the needed equipment to run the operation.

  • Salary Information: £45,000-£50,000 
  • Shift Pattern: to be discussed at interview. 

Requirements: 

  • The Company shall have an up-to-date organisational chart demonstrating the management structure of the company. 
  • This shall, where appropriate, include the responsibilties for any associated hub or satellite depots and any responsbilities carried out by a head office.
  • The senior management of the Company shall ensure that levels of responsibility and accountability are clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality and quality systems. To this end, job descriptions shall be available. There shall be appropriate documented arrangements in place to cover for the absence of key staff.
  • The senior management of the company shall have a system in place to ensure that it is kept informed of all relevant legislation, product, safety issues, scientific and technical developments, and industry codes of practice. There shall be a system in place to ensure that relevant information is passed to the management at other locations, where appropriate.
