Are you passionate about history, geography, or religious studies and looking to start a rewarding career in education? We have an exciting opportunity for a Humanities Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school in Greenwich!



Role Overview:

As a Humanities Teaching Assistant, you will support the teaching and learning within the Humanities Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with experienced teachers, help students excel, and gain valuable experience in an academic setting. The role is long-term with the potential for further career progression for the right candidate.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support for Humanities lessons (History, Geography, and Religious Studies).
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
  • Work one-to-one or with small groups of students to reinforce learning and help with any challenges.
  • Support students with varying learning needs, ensuring an inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Help maintain a positive and organised classroom setting.
  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities or school events related to Humanities subjects.


Requirements:

  • A passion for Humanities (History, Geography, Religious Studies) and a strong academic background in these areas.
  • A DBS certificate on the update service (mandatory).
  • No prior child-based experience required, but a desire to work with young people is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude.
