This is a permanent, full-time position, working with some of the UK’s biggest names.

As an innovative ultra-creative Mechanical Design Engineer, who is design and solutions orientated, you will play a vital / pivotal role within this growing M&E business.

The client is looking for a well-organised, flexible, driven, forward planner with the ability to deliver mechanical design work to a high standard and to tight timescales. You should also be able to take on the ability to manage the mechanical design engineering aspects of other more junior members of the team assisting on projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Acting as Project Leader / Project Manager across various M&E / MEP projects
• Attending principal meetings and delivering client presentations
• Delivering technical design excellence for all mechanical engineering works
• Help generate repeat business through high end customer care (existing clients)
• Working across a variety of technically challenging and highly interesting projects 
• Client facing, involved in all stages of a project (inception to completion / handover)
• Working in a team environment to achieve a common goal
• Producing design drawings, design specifications and calculations

Desired Experience:

• Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer
• Previous M&E / MEP experience across various construction projects
• Commercial, Industrial, Leisure / Sports M&E / MEP experience is ideal
• Design Software experience in AutoCAD 2D & Revit is useful
• British and European Standards Building Regulations knowledge
• Professional Membership (CIBSE, IET) useful, but not a must have
• Knowledge of integration of embedded generation
• An understanding of incorporating various renewable technologies
• Working knowledge of BREEAM & Passivhaus is useful
• An appreciation and some knowledge of electrical engineering beneficial

This role is commutable from: Southampton, Portsmouth, Havant, Bognor Regis, Worthing, Waterlooville, Poole, Bournemouth, Winchester, New Forest, Gosport, Andover, Salisbury, Basingstoke, Chichester & areas close to these in Hampshire / South East.
