The Opportunity
Given increased project expansion, our client is currently seeking to employ an experienced Quality Manager to support the development of all quality processes throughout the programme Euston client team.

Our client is seeking to address future predicted submarine docking capability, with an ambitious and dynamic team being established to help deliver programme Euston as a Joint Project Team.

The role
As the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for reporting to the Programme Manager to help establish and implement quality management processes across all departments forming the Programme Euston Client team.  Appropriate quality standards, processes, and procedures will be developed in parallel with maturing the Programme Management System.

You will also work in partnership with the corresponding representative to ensure past learning is incorporated into future works, and best practice is shared across all aspects of the Infrastructure Programme.

Limited travel to site may be required, however the role would typically be expected to be conducted in a hybrid arrangement from Glasgow City Centre (3 days office, 2 days WfH).

Estimated Duration- 12 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
  • Providing a Single Point of Contact for Quality Management within the Programme Euston Client team.
  • Developing and maturing the Programme Integrated Management System.
  • Developing, tailoring and implementing the Quality Management Plan and supporting processes across the Programme.
  • Preparing, shaping and maintaining key Programme IMS documents including quality objectives, performance measures, plans and procedures.
  • Conducting internal quality and supplier audits and management reviews in accordance with an agreed audit.
  • schedule agreed with the Work Package Owner and Project Manager to verify compliance with procedures and identify process improvements.
  • Supporting the Head of Engineering on Life Cycle Management (LCM) maturity/design reviews in accordance with Approving Authorities requirements.
  • Leading on QA and QC management activities within Implementation to ensure quality requirements are included within Supply Chain contracts,
  • Providing Supply Chain quality management including tender workshops, reviewing tenders, specification reviews and factory acceptance testing.
  • Monitoring product quality verification activities (including Contractor/Supplier Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and document reviews, audits and surveillance visits) to ensure products and services comply with contractual requirements.
  • Liaising with any Government Quality Assurance Representatives (GQR) (if required) and other quality representatives and leading the Programme Quality Forum (Terms of Reference to be prepared).
You will have the following qualifications and experience
  • SC Clearance (or ability to gain prior to commencing employment).
  • Educated to Degree level in a technical discipline relevant to construction.
  • Knowledge or mastery of an activity or subject gained through involvement in or exposure to it.
  • Full understanding and implementation of Management Systems and ISO 9001:2015
  • 10 years’ experience in Quality Management; managing all aspects of quality management including Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
  • 5 years’ experience working in a client organisation leading and driving the quality of the supply chain.
  • Understanding of Naval Base and nuclear compliance, legislation, quality & safety.
  • Good IT skills, proficient using Word, Excel, SharePoint and other Microsoft tools.
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Ability to manage a small team.
It's great if you also have the following  
  • Ideally have experience of the HMNB Clyde environment.
  • Experience on large scale construction projects (>£1bn).
  • Specific skills, experience or qualifications required to be successful in a professional role.
  • Successfully completed recognised Lead Auditor course.
  • Associated professional membership in an appropriate discipline.
