What is the role?

As site engineer for the Wilcox site, you will report directly into the Production Controller and work closely to maintain and develop the machinery and manufacturing systems associated with the production of our industry leading range of rigid and trailer Tipper products.

What are the Duties and Responsibilities?​

  • Planning and scheduling planned and unplanned work.
  • Responding immediately to equipment breakdowns.
  • Diagnosing breakdown problems.
  • Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment
  • Dealing with emergency and unplanned problems and repairs
  • Site work, maintenance and repairs to buildings.
  • Checking and calibrating equipment as required, including PAT
  • Keeping production managers informed of progress.
  • Implementing Health and Safety policies.
  • Focus on time and productivity targets.
  • Maintain a professional and responsible attitude at all times.
  • Actively participating in the reduction of waste, and in the management of waste through separation of waste products.
  • Management, care and use of your own personal protective equipment.

What qualifications or experience will you need?

Ideally you will have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within an engineering related sector. A background in metal fabrication, welding, machine shop or heavy engineering is essential, as this role is working within the production areas on the whole. You will be multi-skilled, with strong mechanical (fitting, belts, chains, pulleys, hydraulics etc) and electrical (fault finding, basic control panels and repairs) preferred. Working knowledge of business services such as heating, light and door/security systems also advantageous.
