Role Overview:

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing all mechanical design documents required for assigned projects, working closely with the Project Engineer. Your role will involve creating technically sound, cost-effective solutions that meet client needs while following our design strategies, standards, and guidelines.

You will play a key part in managing the design process for sales orders, generating necessary drawings, technical documentation, and manufacturing details. This role also requires maintaining up-to-date documentation and system files to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. When needed, you will support research and development activities and collaborate with other teams, including sales, manufacturing, and quality assurance, ensuring all work aligns with company policies and procedures.

Main Duties:

  • Produce and amend general arrangement (GA) and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks/AutoCAD LT, ensuring they meet company standards for manufacturing and technical documentation.
  • Create cut file drawings from detailed designs using AutoCAD LT.
  • Build and maintain a library of standard parts and a register for repeat order drawings on the main server.
  • Support the design team to ensure smooth order processing, helping to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Liaise closely with the Project Engineer throughout the life of all projects.
  • Provide design support to the manufacturing department as needed.
  • Work closely with other departments to enhance customer service and support.
  • Carry out all duties in line with company quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

You will need:

  • Proven experience in a similar Design Engineering role.
  • Proficiency in engineering design systems, such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD LT.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and standards such as ISO9001 and ISO14001, along with MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to use data for short-term and strategic decision-making.
  • Flexibility with working hours and locations as needed.
  • A background in a technical product environment is essential.
