My client is currently seeking an experienced Highways Design Team Leader to join their Consultancy division, based from their Victoria office. The role is full time, permanent and offers a competitive salary and wide range of benefits.
 
As the Highways Design Team Leader, you will help lead the development and delivery of their excellent design services. You will be joining the Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) team, delivering projects in high profile central London locations such as Leicester Square and Whitehall. You will provide technical direction, liaise with clients, contractors and other divisions such as Term Maintenance, Structures and Lighting. You will resolve technical issues as they occur and monitor the progress of your areas of responsibility.
 
The duties of the Highways Design Team Leader role will include:
Managing designs and implementing highway engineering solutions
Developing excellent and effective collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, external providers and other agencies
Carrying out monthly programme and financial reporting
Liaising with the client team on progress
Preparing reports, drawings, schedules, bills of quantities, cost estimates and other documents in accordance with local procedures
 
What skills and experience do you need?
They are looking for a Chartered Engineer, who holds IEng or equivalent. You will have significant experience of highway engineering and urban design within a consultancy environment. You will be familiar with local government and private sector clients, and you will have good working knowledge of different contract types including NEC3.
