First People Solutions is currently recruiting for a Sub Agent to join a well-established civil engineering contractor, working on a significant Rail Civils Renewal Framework in Scotland. This is an excellent chance to be involved in enhancing Scotland's rail infrastructure on projects with values ranging from £500k to £3m such as bridge replacements, tunnels, flood alleviation & repairs, earthworks & embankments and rail platforms and station infrastructure

This role would be perfect for a Site Engineer looking to take their first steps into a management role

The Role:

As a Sub-Agent, you'll take responsibility for the planning and execution of site-based work across Scotland. You'll play a key part in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Day to day responsibilities would include:

• Liaison with site staff and managing surveyor to ensure tender allowances are not exceeded.
• The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.
• Ensuring that in conjunction with the site team changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed.
• The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Contracts Manager.

What We're Looking For:

• Degree / HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role)
• Experience as a Sub Agent or a Senior Site Engineer level in a civil engineering contracting environment
• Experience working on multi-disciplinary rail or civils infrastructure projects for a civil engineering contractor
