The role of Interim Procurement Consultant requires an individual with a strong understanding of the end to end procurement and the new procurement act regulations. The successful candidate will be capable of leading and enhancing procurement strategies in a large-scale educational environment. You must have worked on a consultative bases before and be able to advise.

Description

You will act as the Procurement Lead Consultant and implement strategies, advise and support in setting up the procurement function.

  • Involved with the strategic implementation of procurement principles, driving procurement activity, setting KPI's, analysing spent report, implementing training and setting the function up for the organisation.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers. review supplier contracts to ensure the best terms and conditions.
  • Ensure that procurement policies comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders within and outside the college.
  • Implement risk management procedures to minimise procurement risks.
  • Conduct regular reviews of supplier performance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to procurement team members.

Profile

A successful Interim Procurement Consultant should have:

  • A proven track record working as a procurement consultant and based in the north ( hybrid working required)
  • Proven experience in a senior procurement role helping to implement the strategy, introduce processes and review all contracts.
  • Ideally worked within education or public sector
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence stakeholders and take them on a journey
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • A strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
