A Special Needs School in Slough that has students aged from 2 – 19 years of age are currently looking for SEN Teaching Assistants with an enthusiastic and innovative approach to facilitating the learning and development of students with PMLD.

This role entails both 1:1 and more general support to the students and suitable PMLD Teaching Assistants will be expected to provide personal care.

The position is an immediate start for the right Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants.

Requirements

• A patient and understanding approach
• Experience in working with students with SEN, specifically Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties would be preferred
• Flexible approach
• Adult and Child DBS on the update service

Responsibilities

• To assist and support the development and learning of students within the SEN School
• Provide 1:1 and general support to students according to requirements for the day
• Ability to provide personal care
• Working effectively alongside other teaching and support staff to ensure a safe and productive work environment is maintained
• Adhere to the Schools policies including Safeguarding, Child Protection, Behaviour Management, Health and Safety

It is preferred but not essential that PMLD Support Assistants have Manual Handling, Hoisting and Team Teach training.
