About The Role:

The company are seeking a skilled and experienced Spray Painter to join their busy campervan body shop team on a full-time basis. As a Spray Painter, you will be responsible for applying paint coatings to campervans and ensuring high-quality finishes. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a passion for delivering excellent results. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the production of premium campervans and be part of a dynamic team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare campervans for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking surfaces as necessary.
  • Select and mix paint colours to match specifications, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Apply primer, base coats, and clear coats using spray guns and other painting equipment.
  • Monitor painting process to ensure even coverage and proper adhesion of paint.
  • Perform quality inspections to identify and rectify any imperfections or defects in the paint finish.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and handling of paint materials and equipment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, techniques, and materials to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  • Assist with other tasks and duties as needed to support the overall operation of the body shop.

Experience / Qualifications needed:

  • Proven experience as a Spray Painter in an automotive or similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of paint mixing, application techniques, and finishing processes.
  • Proficiency in operating spray guns, air compressors, and other painting equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical specifications, work orders, and safety procedures.
  • Attention to detail and precision in executing paint jobs to meet quality standards.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification or training in automotive painting techniques is preferred but not required.
