Would you welcome the opportunity to join a privately owned and professionally run Contractor based in the Southwest on a contract basis?


 


A Degree qualified Senior Site /Setting out Engineer is required to join a construction company who currently undertake a number of prestigious high end build projects across Devon.


 


Currently they support several of the Major construction contractors providing engineering and preconstruction support for major housing developers, schools, hospitals, refurbishments and high end residential builds.


 


Due to repeat business and having a reputation for delivering technically challenging projects , they have an immediate opportunity for a Site / Setting out Engineer to join a live site in Exeter on a contract basis for c.12 weeks.


 


The purpose of this role is to provide engineering and technical knowledge to guide the construction to the next stage. The project is a refurbishment of an old school to be converted into luxury accommodation so they require an engineer that can problem solve and find solutions for unforeseen problems utility and drainage networks.


 


It is also essential that you have experience of Setting out / Site Engineer ideally with experience of using GPS, Robotic Total Station.


Other duties may include working with site plans, drawings and building information models, resolving technical problems and Liaising with designers and engineers to ensure plans and drawings are accurate.


Requirements for the role:
  • Minimum of 5 years setting out experience in housing, construction or civil engineering.
  • Degree or HNC/D level in a relevant area of Civil Engineering / Construction.
  • Be responsible for producing setting out data from a range of formats including AutoCAD.
This is a contract position for an engineer to start in the next 2 weeks and be able to commit to the timeline of c.9-12 weeks with the potential to extend or move to another project.
