Development Technologist
 

Are you passionate about food innovation and product development? We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Technologist to join a dynamic Development team within the Bakery sector. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of new product development from concept to launch. You will work closely with the development and operations teams to ensure the successful execution of innovative ideas that meet the highest quality standards and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Innovation: Support the development of new products and processes, ensuring they meet the agreed product launch plan.
• Recipe Management: Develop accurate product recipes and costings, maintaining focus across multiple projects.
• Customer Engagement: Assist in presenting ideas and concepts clearly to internal and external customers, building strong professional relationships.
• Market Awareness: Maintain a broad awareness of competitor products and market trends to identify new opportunities.
• Resource Planning: Organize and control resources such as ingredients and packaging to deliver concept samples to the agreed standards and timescales.
• Product Quality: Monitor and benchmark the quality of both new and existing products, implementing improvements as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in Food Science/Technology or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
• Passion for Food Innovation with a solid understanding of food manufacturing and development processes.
• Strong Communication Skills with the ability to present clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Attention to Detail: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Full UK Driving License is required due to potential inter-site travel.
