Year 1 Teacher in Lewisham, South London

About the Role:

Career Teachers are seeking an experienced and qualified Year 1 Teacher for a fantastic primary school in Lewisham, South London! This outstanding school, rated "Good" by Ofsted, prides itself on fostering independence, confidence, and self-belief in its students. This role can be full-time or part-time (4 days per week) starting ASAP, and is not suitable for ECTs.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Year 1 Teacher, you will:

• Teach all national curriculum subjects, including Maths, English, Science, and Art.
• Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons tailored to Year 1 students.
• Create a safe and motivating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
• Implement behaviour expectations and manage classroom discipline effectively.
• Assess assignments and tests to track student performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Communicate effectively with parents and school leaders to support student learning and well-being.

Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for passionate Primary Teachers with:

• An Undergraduate Education Degree or equivalent with QTS.
• Previous in-school teaching experience.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
• The right to work in the UK.
• Expertise in teaching methods and effective communication skills.
• The ability to inspire students of all abilities.
• Dedication to creating ideal learning conditions and safeguarding children.
• Proficiency in office software.
• Positive, outgoing, and compassionate traits.

Salary:

Earn between £135-£240 per day as a primary supply teacher, depending on experience, or be paid to National Scale (MPS/UPS) for long-term or permanent placements.
