Our client is a market leading company that specialises in HVAC Systems and predominantly maintenance and servicing of Air Condition and Refrigeration Systems.

Covering the Reading area, you will be responsible for Heading up their Reading service office with responsibility for service turnover and maintenance portfolio, managing a team of service engineers and support staff.

What's involved for the Service Manager…

  • Day to day management of service engineers
  • Nurturing engineer and support team learning and career progress. Completing yearly appraisals with engineers and support team and actioning findings, requests
  • Approve all engineer and support staff holiday requests and sickness/time off requests. Liaise with Human Resources (HR).
  • Specifically actioning new enquiries with quotations. Identifying from worksheets additional repairs and submitting quotations. Reacting to issues with repairs on site and making decisive decisions. Reacting to client queries and resolving complaints, problems in a timely manner. Liaising and always communicating with the client
  • Achieve your depot revenue budget and maintain depot margin 25% & focus on increasing maintenance contract base 10% (by value) per annum
  • Ensure all maintenance renewals are sent promptly and priced correctly
  • Ensure all work activity of the department is undertaken within the company's Health and Safety Systems of work with a focus on documented risk assessment plans
  • Run at least 2 service engineer toolbox talk meetings annually. Plan agenda and present minutes to the directors

What you'll need…

Educational and professional level / type and depth of experience:

  • Proven relevant work experience and consistent track record of achievement in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning industry.
  • Sound technical knowledge and understanding of air conditioning and chiller systems

Skills and Experience:

  • Management experience and leadership ability
  • Good communication skills and confident personality.
  • Strong organisational abilities and multi-tasking skills.
  • Commercial awareness and contract tendering experience.
