Production operative

Rate- £23k-£38k per annum

Shift- Mid and Night shifts available

Location- Suffolk

Our longstanding client specialising in steel engineering are currently recruiting for Production operatives to work within a fantastic company based in Suffolk. Working as part of a team of operators to process customer orders to specifications using a selection of manual machinery.

The successful Production operative candidate should have:

• Operating a selection of machinery for metal processing
• Experience working with laser machines, band saws and/or shot blasting (advantageous)
• Processing steel to customers’ requirements and tolerances.
• Understanding how to read drawings, orders and following verbal instructions
• Operate CombiLifts and the crane safely and in a controlled manner
• Collating orders, including banding, palletising, bagging and preparing them for loading
• Loading and offloading of plate and parts from the plasma and laser machines
• Identifying and locating different steel products using appropriate measuring equipment
• Keeping machines and work areas clean and tidy
• Reporting any machine faults/breakdowns to the Production Supervisor or Maintenance

Shifts available for the Production operative :

Mid shift (37 hours per week): Monday to Thursday (14:00 – 22:00) Friday (14:00 – 19:00)

Night shift (37 hours per week): Monday to Thursday (22:00 – 06:00) Friday (19:00 – 00:00)

This includes a 30 minute paid break. All training carried out on day shift.

Salary available for the FLT driver/ Production operative:

£24,000- £38,000 dependant on experience and shift

Mid shift: £24,570 – £33,500 per annum

Night shift: £27,750 – £37,850 per annum

Overtime: overtime available at time and a half, after 40 hours
