Head Chef

Location: Glasgow

Hours of work: 40

Contract Type: Permanent

Our client's Campus is an urban playground, and as part of the team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of colleagues while creating memorable experiences for everyone who visits.

Our client believes that the workplace should be a space where every individual can thrive and bring their full self to the table.

Our client is committed to creating a working environment that supports each person's ambition, need, and desire—and you will be instrumental in making this vision a reality.

People make places, and places make people; this Campus offers you the opportunity to not only build a career but also shape a life filled with purpose and connection.

Job Description

As the Head Chef, you will report directly to the Lead Food Architect, leading the craft team and collaborating closely with the service team to deliver an exciting, exceptional, and inspirational dining experience.

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the shift, using your culinary expertise and creative flair to ensure that everyone who engages with the food is kept safe, and that we consistently meet both customer and company expectations.

A natural show person, you will stay ahead of food trends and have excellent organisational and communication skills to lead the team effectively.

If you’re passionate about food, leadership, and creating memorable experiences, this is the perfect role for you.

With the opportunity to work in a vibrant and innovative environment, you’ll be empowered to make a real impact, grow your skills, and contribute to a workplace that values community, diversity, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the LFA to deliver the Campus food strategy
  • Organise & control the efficient and effective running of the service whilst inspiring the team members
  • Utilise a “hands on” approach whilst maintaining a strategic eye for the development of business, and team members
  • Work alongside other work streams, e.g. the Curated Experience team to deliver events and experiences that are literally the talk of the Campus and the town
  • Oversee the standard and quality of all food & drink; you and your team are responsible for ensuring the items that leave the kitchen are to spec, and have the “wow” factor. If it isn’t right, we change it!
  • Keep your ear close to the ground! Tell us what the customer wants and how we keep our clients happy and coming back. Shout about your successes!
  • Be audit ready at all times and achieve the highest possible standard, e.g. finance, HS, FS, internal inspections, etc.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • SCQF Level 8 minimum or equivalent cookery qualification
  • Exceptional leadership skills with core competencies around kitchen operational and service excellence, delivering a vision, personable leadership and team engagement
  • Experience in a similar role in large scale high end catering and/or fast casual food service outlets
  • Must be IT literate and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Essential to possess innovative qualities and highly capable of taking an active lead role within a dynamic team
  • Must be able to identify and resolve issues and challenges to meet and exceed the expectations of our client
