Description
We are working with a Paper & Packaging Manufacturer who are looking for a Quality Manager to join their team based in Blackburn.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Management team to take full ownership of quality control and assurance across all stages of the business.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Lead Quality Projects and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to support continuous improvement for customer delivery and improve business KPIs
- Develop and implement quality control procedures, testing and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes and products to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Enhance Customer complaint and internal non-conformance investigations to identify root cause and appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain documentation and records related to quality control activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
- Continuously work towards and ensure recertification of ISO 9001, FSC and any other quality certifications required by the Group.
Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
- Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the Quality strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and procurement, to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications, Experience and skills
- Proven experience in a quality management role within manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
- Strong root cause analysis skills (8D & 5Ys)
- Strong IT & Document control skills.
- Significant experience in a highvolume manufacturing environment, preferably paper manufacturing
- Hands-on leadership style.
Salary
- Up to £55,000
