Are you a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher with a passion for supporting secondary-aged students?

An exciting opportunity has emerged for an experienced Teacher to join a Secondary-aged alternative provision in Hillingdon, London, where you'll play a crucial role in helping students within KS3 reach their full potential.

This School caters for children with Social, emotional and mental health needs, ensuring to provide the children with a varied curriculum and enrichment programme.

This is a long-term teaching position that will be a very rewarding role, starting from October half-term until the end of the academic year, on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver personalized lessons that cater to the unique needs and abilities of secondary school students with special educational needs.
  • Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) while collaborating with support staff and specialists to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages personal growth, emotional well-being, and academic achievement.
  • Carefully track and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports to inform future interventions and support strategies.
  • Utilize effective behaviour management techniques, de-escalation strategies, and positive reinforcement approaches to create a harmonious and productive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of teaching secondary school students with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of the requirements of SEN education, adaptable teaching methods, and a commitment to individualized instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a collaborative mindset when working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a deep passion for supporting the educational and personal growth of secondary school students with SEN.
  • Familiarity with relevant policies, procedures, and legislations pertaining to special education.
