I have an EXCITING role for an experienced care manager to join the Wales largest not for profit learning disabilities services. The organisation was established over 35 years and supports services users aged 18-65 to live as independently as possible.

The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality support services within a designated area. This role involves ensuring that individuals receive the necessary support to achieve positive life outcomes, promoting a culture of engagement and participation, and managing staff effectively.

  • Salary: £35,949 - £41,927
  • Hours: Full Time 37 hours a week
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Shifts: Monday to Friday
  • Location: Hybrid working with office in Denbigh

As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure that support services are delivered to the highest standards, meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support services to identify areas for improvement.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Foster a culture of engagement and participation, empowering individuals to have a strong voice and control over their care.
  • Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and aspirations.
  • Promote self-determination and independence.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of support staff.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to staff members.
  • Ensure that staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver effective support.
  • Promote a culture of safeguarding and positive risk-taking.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders, including social services, inspectors, health professionals, landlords, and families.
  • Represent the organisation effectively in external meetings and forums.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and organisations to improve outcomes for individuals.
  • Develop and manage budgets for the area, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.


Requirements:

  • At least 2 year's experience of working with people with learning disabilities or with people with other support needs.
  • The ability to achieve results through managing colleagues performance and monitoring and evaluating service provision
  • NVQ or QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care
  • Full UK Driver's Licence
  • The ability to provide direction for colleagues and managers through supervision and team meetings and delegation of work
