This is a part time vacancy, working 29 hours per week. Pro rata salary - £24,776.62 - 32,300.28

About the Role:

As an ESOL Lecturer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education to both adult learners and 16-18 year olds. You will be responsible for teaching a range of ESOL qualifications from Pre-Entry to Level 2, as well as Functional Skills Maths at Entry 1-Entry 3. Your innovative and motivational teaching methods will inspire and engage students, helping them achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver ESOL qualifications and Functional Skills Maths.
  • Create and implement engaging and creative lesson plans.
  • Manage classroom activities and ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Conduct assessments and track student progress.
  • Participate in curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to enhance the learning experience.
  • Support student recruitment and retention through promotional activities and events.
About you

Essential Criteria:
  • Education and Qualifications:
    • Relevant teaching qualification.
    • Minimum Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy.
    • Academic qualification at Level 5 or higher.
  • Work Experience:
    • Expertise in ESOL and experience delivering a range of ESOL programmes.
    • Experience working in a Further Education (FE) environment.
    • Experience delivering to both 16-18 year olds and adults.
    • Experience in assessing learners and undertaking the IQA process.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of current academic standards and quality assurance.
    • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
  • Personal Qualities:
    • Commitment to student success and a positive learning environment.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to equality and diversity.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Level 4 or higher qualification as an ESOL or Literacy specialist.
  • Level 3 qualification in numeracy.
  • Experience delivering blended learning approaches.
  • Understanding of quality initiatives in Further Education.
