We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly respected, Nationally based multi-disciplinary practice with 8 offices in the UK and a team of market leading experts. We are searching for an NQ valuation Surveyor or Senior Surveyor to value all types of commercial and residential properties predominantly in the Central and Greater London area.

Working as part of the highly respected team and working closely with the department director, valuations are to be carried out for secured lending, accounts, tax, expert, matrimonial and acquisition purposes. The role for this is to undertake existing instructions, maintain existing Client relationships by keeping them informed of the progress of their reports and develop new business. The majority of work will involve property situated in Central and Greater London with the emphasis on instructions that lead to higher fee levels as opposed to volume work. Our client is all about the 'team' and encourages a cohesive mentality with Cross-selling being rewarded.

What type of work will you be involved in?

• Likely 65-70% loan security, with the remainder being annual accounts valuations, valuations for strategic asset management purposes, Tax (including CGT) valuations, valuations for probate and marital proceedings, Expert Witness etc.
• Assets you will value range from work is likely to be 60-70% commercial, industrial/warehouse, retail and offices but you will also be involved in valuing single flats, to blocks, and from terraced houses to significant central London homes, to large development sites (a recent valuation was the year end valuations for a major client holding a development platform of 54 acres in the Docklands). Other major commercial clients cover the Olympic Park and associated venues with a number of large development platforms delivering thousands of homes around Stratford). There will be no valuations of hotels, pubs or restaurants, but our client do value them when let investments.
• The instructions are predominantly south east, but the business does have a national remit and will value much further afield. Your work albeit predominantly Central London, there is opportunity to travel and take on exciting instructions throughout the country.

What do you need to be successful?

• The Valuation Surveyor should be newly qualified (MRICS) or an established Senior Surveyor holding RICS Registered Valuer status (although they can give guidance).
• The Valuation Surveyor should have experience of professional matters such as the Red Book and potential new markets appropriate to their region/ town.
• Knowledge of current legislation that affects the building, development, marketing and letting of commercial space.
• The surveyor should have experience of negotiation skills to prepare for and conduct effective negotiations.
• Able to demonstrate ability to develop the skills necessary to generate new clients and jobs.
• Report/letter writing – able to produce readable grammatically correct written reports and letters which are clear, logical and persuasive.
• Experience of Kel and ideally some argus developer (not essential)
• Valuation Surveyor must demonstrates tenacity and perseverance over a period of time to achieve objectives set by leadership and the respective clients.
• The Valuation Surveyor should have attention to detail and accuracy to ensure that activities and tasks are handled correctly and completed on time.
• Responds constructively, enthusiastically, and flexibly to changes in team, market and work.
• Full and valid UK clean driving licence with access to own vehicle.
