Senior Science Technician – Secondary School, Tunbridge Wells

Are you passionate about supporting the next generation of scientists? We are currently recruiting for a Senior Science Technician to join a prestigious secondary school in Tunbridge Wells. This is a permanent, full-time role, term-time only, with an immediate start. The role is essential in ensuring the smooth running of the science department, working across all three science specialisms and supporting the teaching and learning of students.

Key Details:

• Position: Senior Science Technician
• Salary: £26,515 - £28,850 -  £23,009 - £25,036 (actual salary, term-time only)
• Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year + 5 inset days
• Start: Immediate/ASAP
• Location: Tunbridge Wells

Role Responsibilities:

• Supporting teachers in the delivery of science lessons by preparing and maintaining equipment, apparatus, and materials.
• Assisting with the maintenance and preparation of classrooms to ensure safe, effective, and efficient teaching.
• Coordinating the use of practical resources and providing advice to teachers, students, and support staff.
• Ensuring the correct and safe usage of materials and equipment within the science department.

Requirements:

• A science qualification to at least A-Level (or equivalent) is essential.
• Technician or laboratory experience is highly desirable.
• The ideal candidate will have strong technical competence for preparing and ordering materials, maintaining equipment, and supporting science teachers with practical lessons.
