Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? A primary school in Oldbury is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with autism and hyperactivity. This long-term role is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on a child’s learning journey.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with additional needs, specifically autism and hyperactivity.
• Ensure the pupil stays on task and completes planned work in line with their educational needs.
• Manage the pupil's hyperactivity with patience, understanding, and effective strategies.
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the child’s learning goals are met.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject.
• Experience working with young children with special needs, particularly autism.
• Ability to build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to helping children succeed.
