Steele Charles are delighted to have been retained by another new client in the search for the next addition to their high performing sales function.

Salary expected to be c.£40k +£15k bonus.

Overall purpose:

Your responsibilities will be to close deals, develop and strengthen relationships with our current clients, turn occasional spend into regular projects and elevate to the key account and strategic partnership level where possible. You will be responsible for converting a stream of well-qualified enquiries into orders, strengthening existing client relationships and building new ones through excellent customer care and networking. This office-based role requires persistent, regular follow up of all live opportunities in your pipeline primarily by phone and video meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Nurture qualified leads through to the point of order.

● Maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects, planning sales activities monthly, weekly and daily using the company customer focus tool.

● Gain thorough understanding of the needs so that an accurate design and business case can be put forward.

● Develop strong, ongoing relationships with prospects and clients.

● There will be an occasional requirement to visit customers, sites and tradeshows from time to time as directed.

● Create, plan, and deliver business cases and presentations for each project to demonstrate a tangible payback period or ROI along with relevant features and benefits.

● Work closely with other team members and departments to optimise the sales effort.

Experience & Skills:

● Ideally two years of successful sales experience that demonstrates a commitment to meet activity and sales targets.

● (Ideally) Sales experience in one or more of the following UK industries is mandatory: construction, aggregates, construction plant, or waste/recycling.

● Enthusiastic drive with willingness to grow and adapt.

● IT literate.

● Belief in the importance of accurate and up-to-date reporting and inputting into a CRM.

● Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

● Excellent interpersonal skills: able to read people and respond effectively.

● Excellent rapport building skills.

● Excellent questioning and listening skills.

● Excellent on the phone or video calls with prospects and clients.

● Good attention to detail.

● A basic understanding of engineering and construction, and an appreciation of technical details and design

Please note a full UK driving licence is a requirement. Company car and all fuel, including personal use, included.
