At A Star Care, we’re looking for a Carer who can step in to provide essential support to a vibrant young lady in Mansfield Nottinghamshire. This role is for Mondays, 9am to 5pm, but it could become permanent based on your performance. You’ll be caring for a young woman who loves going out, exploring, and living her life to the fullest – despite living with complex epilepsy and an acquired brain injury. You’ll be the person she counts on, especially when the unexpected happens, like unpredictable seizures. Your calm presence and ability to manage rescue medication could literally be life-saving.

She is mobile, but when she’s out in the community, she needs her wheelchair. You’ll be her helping hand when she’s enjoying her time out, ensuring she stays safe, supported, and engaged. Plus, you’ll help her around meals if needed, particularly if seizure activity occurs.

What We Need From You:

• A valid driving license – She loves going out, and you’ll be there to ensure she can enjoy her outings.
• Compassion and great communication – You’ll need to speak clear, fluent English to connect with her and understand her needs.
• Experience with epilepsy care is a major plus – You’ll know how to handle difficult moments and provide the necessary seizure management and rescue medication.
• A calm, collected attitude – When seizures happen, you’ll be the one providing the care and support she needs most.
• Flexibility to help with incontinence issues that might arise during or after a seizure.
