Small, friendly, privately owned construction company are hiring to provide support to the team

Job role description:

We are looking for a high energy, dynamic candidate to fill and grow into a role in our family run business. The role is varied and will suit a person looking to get into the construction industry office environment. Reporting into the Commercial Management Team, responsibilities will include:

  • Compiling Buy / Sell forecast documents
  • Compiling Procurement Schedules
  • Compiling material call of lists for projects
  • Preparation of Individual Project duration Programs for consideration and approval by the senior management team
  • Day to day monitoring of project progress in support of the Contracts Supervisor and Contracts Director
  • Maintaining delivery note/conveyance note schedules
  • Managing and recording incoming deliveries
  • Communicating directly to the labourer workforce, directives from Management
  • Compiling project packs consisting of RAMS & BofQ’s, general project information

Essential Skills:

  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Moderate understanding of Quantity Surveying
  • Moderate understanding of construction and the construction industry
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines

Preferred Skills:

(Not essential, as can be learnt during the job)

  • Knowledge of groundworks and civils
  • Reading drawings and compiling Take-offs
  • Project Management
  • Procurement / Buying negotiation
