Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Holiday/ Benefits:

• 00pm - 10.00pm
• 00pm - 6.00am

Role overview:

As a Maintenance Engineer within our client's business, you will maintain all manufacturing plant, equipment and facilities in good working order. Also, as a Maintenance Engineer you will improve equipment reliability by increasing the mean time between failure (MTBF) while reducing the mean time to repair (MTTR).

Main Duties:

• Carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
• Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM).
• Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned works orders as required.
• Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
• Report breakdown root cause, equipment faults and concerns to line Manager.
• Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues.
• Make full use of CMMS.
• Plan/prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
• Assist in the meeting of daily production plan.
• Fill in job tickets/ CMMS on completion of work accurately and in a timely manner.
• Typical example of work would be to respond to maintenance request for equipment fault, diagnose fault, repair and return equipment to operational service.
• All work to be carried out operating in a safe and efficient manner. (a process of dynamic risk assessments operated).
• Identify spares requirements, log usage and aid in control.
• Assist in the moving, installation and repositioning of machines and equipment.
• All communication requirements to be conducted in a professional, positive and clear manner.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the business.
• To work as part of the team in which they are a member, suggesting ways to continually improve in a creative and inspirational manner and to have a positive, example setting approach to all challenges.
• Balances team and individual responsibilities sharing expertise with others.
• To provide guidance and support to individuals to achieve personal aims.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum C&G in Electrical and Mechanical.
• Food Industry background or transferable skills.
• Must have worked in fast moving environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

Personal Performance-

• To ensure line performance is optimised.
• To communicate all issues to team leader/shift Production Manager.
• Services breakdown to notify Maintenance and Production Managers immediately.
• Maintenance and Production Managers must be notified of any stoppages lasting one hour or more.
