Sheet Metal Worker - Salary: £18 - £21 per hour, depending on experience
Location: Cheltenham
My client is currently seeking two skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Workers specialising in thin gauge aluminium, steel, and titanium to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and understand technical drawings and instructions to fabricate sheet metal products with precision.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines and hand tools to cut, bend, and straighten metal materials.
- Shape sheet metal over anvils, blocks, or custom forms, ensuring accurate dimensions and smooth finishes.
- Support the training of new employees or less experienced team members as required.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following all health and safety procedures.
- Participate in audits performed by external parties, engage in internal audits and process improvement programs.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in using shrinkers, stretchers, straighteners, English wheels, and rollers to create part profiles.
- Strong understanding of metal behaviour during forming.
- Experience working with titanium, steel, and aluminium.
- Panel beating skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documents.
- Familiarity with first off inspection procedures.
