SEN Teacher

This role is ideal if you have SEN experience and, a passion for teaching children with complex needs and, enjoy witnessing the development of speech, language and, communication.

Are you able to engage and, deliver interactive lessons that stimulate children who have complex learning needs?

A specialist school are actively looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to assist with speech, language and, communication difficulties as well as, those with complex and, learning needs. This setting in Bexhill-On-Sea, caters for residential and, day pupils between the ages of 5 to 19. They are proud to say that they are a total communication enviroment. This ensures all students can make their wishes known and, staff with respond in the best communication style that suits them.

The main aim for this school is to provide the integrated support they need to encourage pupils to achieve their potential and, take their place in the community, confidently and, independtly.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher:

  • Provide a safe, nurturing classroom and school environment that helps students to develop as learners.
  • Consistently plan, resource and deliver lessons that allow stimulating and enjoyable learning.
  • Supervison of teaching assistants within the classroom.
  • Use regular assessments to monitor progress and set targets and determine appropriate intervention.
  • Manage behaviour, mark work and, talk to parents and, carers about their children's progress
  • With specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors and, psychologists.

Requirements of an SEN Teacher:

  • Must have a QTS.
  • Experience within SEN, especially complex needs.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and, colleagues.
  • Adaptable and positive approach.
