We have a really exciting and varied opportunity for a confident and polished Business Development Manager to join a prestigious Birmingham City Centre based organisation on a permanent basis.

As Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial part in the long-term development and growth of this well-regarded organisation. Your role will involve overseeing and managing the Sales Team, setting targets, driving business growth and developing an ethos of high quality service, customer loyalty and retention. Developing new commercial opportunities across the company, you will be proactive about promoting and selling unique events and experiences, monitoring and looking for ways to maximise revenue generation from conferences and events.

Working closely with the Managing Director, this Business Development Manager opportunity will see you working in a highly strategic and senior position within the company, liaising regularly with departments across the business. Monitoring the sales pipeline and completing regular forecasting, you will collate regular business reports for the Board and be confident in presenting new opportunities at a senior level. Your client management skills will also be absolutely key to your success within this role, which will see you acting as an ambassador for the venue and ensuring you provide an un-paralleled level of service to all current and potential clients.  

Another key component of this new Business Development Manager role will be the management of the company’s successful networking series, running monthly events to collaborate and develop your network across Birmingham. Alongside attending these events, you will be proactive about building your network in Birmingham, utilising your contacts to build successful long-term partnerships. Managing your time effectively, you will liaise with an array of internal teams and departments, ensuring the most comprehensive service is provided from start to finish and taking a real pride in all you do.

To succeed in this fast-paced and challenging Business Development Manager role, you will have previous experience working in a dynamic event sales role, ideally in a similar venue hire or hospitality environment, with the ability to work under pressure. You will have previously instructed teams to organise and deliver successful corporate events and have proven experience delivering against targets and leading a team. You will be comfortable working with a variety of people, always acting as an ambassador for the organisation and agile to the ever changing needs of the hospitality industry.
