We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Cover Supervisor to join our outstanding SEN (Special Educational Needs) School. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone experienced in supporting children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism, ADHD, and other special educational needs. As part of our team, you will help foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring that all students, particularly those with MLD, Autism, and ADHD, stay focused and engaged in learning activities.
  • Adapt lesson materials to meet the specific needs of students with MLD, Autism, and ADHD, ensuring inclusivity in all classroom tasks.
  • Use effective behavior management strategies to support students, particularly those with Autism and ADHD, ensuring a calm and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students who require additional help with social skills, communication, or emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans for students with learning differences.
  • Monitor and report student progress, offering feedback to the SEN team to tailor ongoing support.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience working with children with MLD, Autism, ADHD, or other learning needs in a school setting is essential.
  • Familiarity with sensory processing challenges, behavior management strategies, and tailored learning plans for students with Autism and ADHD.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with students who may present challenging behaviors or need additional emotional support.
  • Organized, proactive, and capable of managing classroom activities independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in delivering a supportive, student-centered environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant in a SEN setting is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or SEN support (preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge of positive behavior management techniques specific to Autism and ADHD.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students.
