Abatec is seeking a Site Engineer on a freelance contract to join our client, a regional contractor, for a Civil Engineering project in Somerset.

The successful candidate will have experience in the Civil Engineering industry, capable of self-delivery, setting out, quality assurance and have prior experience working on highways and infrastructure.

As Site Engineer you will:

• Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in setting out on civil engineering schemes.
• Check drawings and quantities, ensuring the accuracy of calculations.
• Comply with the site-specific health and safety protocols to ensure any health and safety concerns are identified and reported as necessary.
• Have ability to complete as builts and QA documentation

Our client requires a Site Engineer with:

• Experience with Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical, and digital levels).
• Valid CSCS
• A good understating of construction health & safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in groundworks, highways and infrastructure (ideally understanding of S278 / S38 works)
• Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable.

Salary/Benefits:

• £300-£350 CIS
