Position: Teaching Assistant (Sports Coaching Background)
Location: Newport
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay Rate: £85.04 per day
Start Date: Immediate Start
Contract: Long-Term Opportunity

Are you passionate about sports and eager to make a difference in young lives? We’re seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a background or strong interest in sports, coaching, or physical education to join our team. This role focuses on working with secondary-aged pupils who may face challenges in learning and managing emotions. Some students have additional learning needs and benefit from structured, engaging support tailored to their individual goals.

Role Requirements:

• Provide in-class support for low-ability learners, including those with additional learning needs, helping to motivate and engage them.
• Use sports and physical activity as tools to build rapport, develop social skills, and encourage positive behavior.
• Assist students in managing emotions constructively, supporting them in developing skills for learning and self-regulation.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to implement individualized learning plans.

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong background or interest in sports, coaching, physical education, or similar fields.
• Experience working with young people, ideally those facing learning or behavioral challenges.
• Ability to build trust and positively influence students who may feel disengaged or frustrated.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to making a positive impact on students’ educational experiences.
