Air Freight Export Manager 37.5 hours per week | Mon – Fri | 09:00 to 17:30 | office-based Hayes, London

About the role

Managing multiple high-profile customer accounts while collaborating with the Branch Manager to enhance business growth, visibility, and service quality, you'll ensure the optimal use of internal and external resources, maximise cost-effectiveness, maintain service levels, and continually seek alternative methods to improve service levels.

Leading a team of 20 staff you’ll be responsible for their training, motivation and development to achieve smooth, efficient, and professional operations of our air freight export services. Your team will deal with; bookings and quotations, airlines to get the best rates, arranging collections, export clearances and documentation. During peak periods you may also be required to provide hands-on operational support.
 

About you

A skilled operational air freight export expert from a freight forwarder with freight team supervisory/management experience is essential for this position. You will have:

• Experience as an Export /Air Freight Manager or Supervisor
• Operational experience of Export Air Freight processes
• Up to date knowledge of Aviation Security, compliance and HMRC procedures
• Excellent people management and customer relations skills
• Full driving licence as occasional travel to customers/DHL GF sites may be required
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK without sponsorship requirements is essential
