About the Role
Are you a passionate, dedicated Children’s Social Worker with experience in supporting children in care? The Isle of Wight Local Authority is seeking a compassionate and skilled Social Worker to join our Children Looked After Team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, well-being, and stability of children and young people in care. You’ll work within a supportive, collaborative team environment, focused on providing exceptional care and empowering children to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of children and young people in care, supporting them in achieving stability and positive outcomes.

• Build meaningful relationships with children and young people, listening to and acting upon their needs, concerns, and aspirations.

• Develop and implement care plans that promote safety, educational attainment, and emotional well-being.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including health, education, and mental health professionals, to provide holistic support.

• Attend and contribute to reviews, court proceedings, and other key meetings, ensuring each child’s voice is central to decision-making.

• Maintain accurate records, assessments, and reports to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Social Work and current Social Work England registration.

• Proven experience in working with children looked after and an understanding of the challenges they face.

• Strong assessment and care planning skills.

• Excellent communication, empathy, and relationship-building abilities.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
